These are our new waiata Matariki and that we will start to learn next week.

What did we learn about Matariki today?

·        It is the Māori New Year.

·        Matariki is a cluster of 7 whetū.

·        The cluster of stars is also known as the Seven Sisters or the Pleiades.

·        Preparing the soil for next season begins.

·        Matariki rises about 4am in the morning!
